Practice Nurses

Our Practice Nurses are here to provide care for a range of health needs, including long-term conditions such as Asthma, COPD and Diabetes, or procedures such as contraception checks or ear syringing.

Our routine nurse appointments are available at both our Tramways and Middlewood sites and can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance. Please call our main Practice number on 0114 234 5338 during normal opening hours to book with our Reception team.

Depending on the procedure required, you may need a longer appointment. Please indicate to the Receptionist what you require the appointment for and they will be able to find a suitable time for you. An approximate length for each appointment is given below, although these may vary depending on each patient's need.

Our Practice Nursing team can offer the following services:

Asthma Reviews

Patients diagnosed with Asthma as invited for an annual check each year and you should receive a letter to remind you to book an appointment. Patients who are routinely prescribed inhalers by the GP are required to have at least one asthma review each year, to ensure it is safe to continue to prescribe your medications. Without these checks, the GP may not be able to issue you further prescriptions, so we encourage patients to be aware when their review is due. These reviews usually take around 15 minutes.
