SERVICES TO PATIENTS
The Practice offers all patients, regardless of how often they see a GP or Practice Nurse, comprehensive medical care. Patients can seek advice on how to remain fit and healthy. Our team of Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants are available to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle and further improve your health and wellbeing.

HOME VISITS
Home visits are essential for a proper family doctor service. However a home visit is really only for those patients who are PHYSICALLY UNABLE to get to the Surgery. We prefer to see all patients in Surgery as the provision of good facilities for proper examination, laboratory tests and hospital referrals can be arranged more easily and quickly from the Surgery. Please bear this in mind when asking for a visit.

Please contact the Surgery before 10.30am to request a home visit. The Receptionist may ask for your telephone number and a GP will call you back. Many requests can be dealt with by a telephone consultation with a GP which is more convenient for both the patient and GP. The Practice cannot guarantee what time a GP will visit at home as these visits take place after surgeries and fit around the GPs other clinical responsibilities.

We will attempt to respond promptly to all requests for visits but would point out that the Practice cannot offer an "emergency" service.

OUT OF HOURS SERVICES
At nights and weekends any call you make to the Practice will automatically divert to the Sheffield GP Collaborative. You will be able to talk to a GP about your problem and may be offered the opportunity to be seen in the Primary Care Treatment Centre. Alternatively a home visit may be arranged if the GP at the GP Collaborative judges that it is necessary. Any information about your call and the reason for your contact is passed electronically to the Surgery by the next working day.

TELEPHONE ACCESS
The Practice has four telephone lines with call handlers ready to take your call Monday to Friday from 8.15am to 12.00pm and 1.00pm to 6.00pm. A single telephone call is all that is required to contact the Surgery. During opening hours the phone will be answered by surgery staff, out of normal hours your call will be diverted either to the Sheffield GP Collaborative or the NHS Direct Advice Service, according to your requirements.
